Printing DYMO labels with the Cratebase Chrome extension

How to set up the Cratebase Chrome Extension

Before you start: what do I need?

Chromium browser

A laptop or desktop with Google Chrome or another Chromium-based browser, such as Microsoft Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave or Chromium.

DYMO LabelWriter

The extension only works on DYMO LabelWriters. All models work, but we recommend the 450. Older models are preferred because newer DYMO printers have additional restrictions on compatible (cheaper) label rolls.

Compatible sticker rolls

You don’t have to use official DYMO rolls — compatible third-party rolls are often much cheaper. Just make sure you choose one of the supported sizes:

  • 30252 — Standard Address (28 mm × 89 mm / 1-1/8“ × 3-1/2“)
  • 30321 / 99012 — Large Address (36 mm × 89 mm / 1-4/10“ × 3-1/2“)
  • 11354 — Multipurpose (32 mm × 57 mm / 1-1/4“ × 2-1/4“)
  • 11356 — White Name Badge (41 mm × 89 mm / 1-5/8“ × 3-1/2“)
  • 99014 — Shipping/Name Badge (54 mm × 101 mm / 2-1/8“ × 4“)
  • 99015 — Large Multipurpose (54 mm × 70 mm / 2-1/8“ × 2-3/4“)

What do I need to install?

DYMO software

Before using Cratebase, your computer needs to be able to communicate with your DYMO printer. Download the newest version of the DYMO software and drivers for your operating system from the official DYMO website:

DYMO Software & Support

Install the software, connect your DYMO LabelWriter via USB and print a test label. Once the printer works correctly, you’re ready for the next step.

The free Cratebase Chrome Extension

This connects Discogs with your sticker printer and automatically prepares the information for your label. Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store.

After installing the extension, we recommend pinning it to your browser so it is always visible next to the address bar. In Chrome, click the Extensions icon (the puzzle piece) in the top-right corner, find Cratebase and click the pin icon.

Browser compatibility

The Cratebase Extension works with Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers, such as Microsoft Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave and Chromium.

How to print a sticker in three steps

  1. Search the record on Discogs. Go to the release page of the record you want to label.
  2. Click the Cratebase extension. Choose whether you want a sticker for your shop inventory or your private collection. The relevant information is filled in automatically, and pricing and custom notes can be added.
  3. Print. Check the information, click Print, and your DYMO prints the sticker.
